Christmas!

I have started my Christmas cards already this year, I know its early but i always find that christmas has a way of creeping up on a person sometimes. I got ahead start on them, but i won’t be showing the card that i’m sending out, but i will show you some of the cards that i will be selling at my upcoming craft sale. Enjoy

Beautiful

I just made this card today, I was feeling very uninspired since I have made so many cards in the past few days. But I was determined to make this card. I used all scraps that I had from previous cards that I made. I love how it turned out and its different from any other card that I have ever made.

You’re a Classic

I’m so sorry that i have not posted in a long while, but with moving to Neerlandia i didn’t have a lot of time to make cards, i also didn’t have space to do it. Now i have some space to make them, so i have been making them like crazy! :D I have even been able to use some stamp sets of my sister’s and her mother-in-law’s.

This card i used a stamp set that i borrowed from my sister’s mother-in-law. i don’t have a lot ‘manly’ stamp sets so i jumped at the chance to make some cards with this stamp set. This card came together quite quickly and i got the opportunity to use some of my clear stamps that i haven’t really gotten to use since i didn’t have a clear block that fit them until now.

Tracy & Simon Wedding Invites

The last time I visited Alberta I forgot my camera there, and so I couldn’t blog this wedding invite I designed for my very best friend Tracy. I loved making these wedding invites, even though it took me a while to figure out how I wanted it to open up. Once I got that worked out, it seemed to fairly smoothly from there.  I had to make some changes after I had designed them, but I think it turned out really well, maybe even better! Thanks Tracy and Simon for letting me design and make all of your wedding invites, I had a blast doing it!

Gift Card Holders

I thought I would try my hand at making some gift card holders. :) I looked on splitcoaststampers, but I wasn’t too keen on the designs they had. So I googled it! :) I found this really easy and simple template for them. I had alot of fun designing these holders. I did three of each color, but switched the top part to give each of them a unique look.

Baroque Box 2

The Box
The Card

This here is the other box that I made for my secret sister, and the corresponding cards. The box was really simple, I got the template from the website splitcoaststampers.com, but I came up with my own design. I used the same stamp set so that the two boxes would match, but i used different colors. The corresponding cards I made like the smaller ones with a couple differences since these cards are bigger.  I did use a different stamp set for the middle of the card to give it a bit of a different look.

Baroque Box

Baroque Box

Corresponding Card

Sorry I have not posted in a long while, I left my camera in Alberta, and I don’t always remember to take a picture with my cellphone. But with this last project I did, I made sure that I took pictures. The lastest project I took on was making somethings for my secret sister. The box is fairly simple to make once I understood how to read 1/8 on the ruler (I have never had to use that measurement before). But I had some trouble with coming up with the design. So I left it for an hour or so and when I came back, it finally all came together. :)  The stamp set used I don’t actually own, but I have it on my digital scrap-booking program. After becoming more familiar with the program, I found that I can design my own pattern paper and print it out on my cardstock. So the top part of the box not stamped with the baroque motif stamp but ‘stamp’ on my program and printed out on the color of card-stock that I used. I also did that for the butterfly that is on top. To go inside the box I made three corresponding cards, that are all the same except for the top stamp.

Ahoy Matey!

Every once in a while I get together with a good friend of mine and we spend the day making cards and such. We also share eachothers stamp-sets and such, well actually its more me using her stamp sets, but thats besides the point. But she has alot more stamp sets than i do, so its always fun to use her sets, and come up with some more ideas for cards. I love this stamp sets and wish that stampin’ up had not discontinued it. I recently had to make some boys cards, and since I do not have very boy sets, I was able to use this one.  And if you look really closely you can see that I made a mistake, but with card it doesn’t really matter. :)

I found myself not really liking this one at first, but when I had it all glued down, I kind of started to like it. The card was not difficult to design, but I was working in a very small area, which is sometimes not very conducive to working well, because I kept burying the things I needed. So the color of the second stamp is not what I had originally planned. I had wanted to use the same color as the base of the card, but since I had buried that stamp pad, I used the compimentary color. Which gave the card a different dynamic, which in the end I think worked out better.

A Pocket Card

This is another one of those card ideas that was swirling around in my head. The reason I hadn’t attempted it until recently is because I couldn’t figure it out in my head first. But finally I had enough of that and decided it was time to see if I could somehow design the card that was in my head. So with a little bit of math, and a ruler, I had my dimensions. After I had the base of the card done, it was smooth sailing from there. :) It is smaller than your average card, but I like it that way. But I do plan to attempt to make a bigger one, well one that is actual card size.
